The Girl pushes him on her skate and takes him to her home. Suffering from heroin withdrawal, Hossein has an episode where he believes that Arash's cat is his dead wife. Infuriated by his father, Arash gives him drugs and money and throws him out, telling him to take the cat with him. Hossein goes to Atti and forces her to take heroin with him.
Arash tries to kiss her, but he gets rejected and she dances with somebody else. The film's protagonist, The Girl, is a sort-of antihero vigilante with a taste for bad men. As a vampire, she is able to roam the streets at night without being concerned for her safety, subverting the implications of the film's title.

As she leaves, she passes by Arash, who has come to offer the earrings for his car. He finds Saeed dead, and takes back his car keys along with a suitcase of drugs and cash. Arash decides to sell the drugs, allowing him to quit his job working for Shaydah. Later, he goes to a costume party at a night club dressed up as Dracula, where he is persuaded by Shaydah into taking one of the ecstasy pills he is selling.

Echoes of the film are seen in the choice of shooting in black-and-white, the use of shadows, and the minimal dialogue. The film's dialogue is entirely in Persian, and the film blends elements of Iranian culture with the spaghetti Western-vampire imagery described above. A young, hardworking Iranian man named Arash lives with and takes care of his heroin-addicted father, Hossein. They are harassed by a cruel, drug-dealer pimp named Saeed, who seizes the young man's prized car in exchange for money the father owes him. In a crime of opportunity, Arash steals a pair of diamond earrings from the wealthy young woman he works for, Shaydah. Don't watch this film if you're looking for scares; it may be about a vampire but it's absolutely not a horror film and the pace is slow and melancholic; the dialogue is minimal but effective.

Shortly before The Girl appears in the scene, we watch two characters, Saeed and Atti , in a car. Saeed represents the cliché pimp, covered in tasteless tattoos (such as “SEX” across his throat and “jakesh,” or “pimp,” on his scalp). Atti is a prostitute who works for him, the victim of both Saeed and the patriarchal society of Bad City. Their encounter turns violent when Atti asks for her cut of the money she has earned; Saeed refuses to give it to her and instead violently drags her out of the car and throws her to the ground.
This intriguing Iranian vampire film unfolds in the perpetual night of Bad City where "the Girl" searches—sometimes on a skateboard—for her next meal. Atti, a prostitute who worked for Saeed, is followed at night by the woman, and they retreat to the prostitute's apartment. The woman gives Atti the payment Saeed owed her.

Ana Lily Amirpour’s black-and-white vampire noir film A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night has garnered somewhat of a cult following. At one point, returning from a costume party , he runs into her on a lonely deserted street.
She wants to leave but he puts himself on her way. She seems to ponder what to do or say next, but just leaves. An Iranian Vampire Western, shot in black&white and with a killer soundtrack... It's a love story about two tortured souls in a desolate Iranian Ghost-town called 'Bad City', where a lonely vampire is stalking the towns most depraved denizens. The woman with the chador spends her time listening to music alone in her apartment, skateboarding, or bedeviling pedestrians at night, until she comes across the lost Arash. He shows vulnerability and compassion, and she takes him to her home, where they listen to music, and she resists his exposed neck.
Truly this film is something you experience , it touches the dark mystery hidden within most of us, and you will love it & relate or hate it because you dont. Quirky romance between a boy, a vampire and their pet cat, set against the post industrial landscape of David Lynch's Eraserhead. Really enjoyed glad i watched i would defiantly recommend if you are bored of Hollywood movies and want to experience something a bit different but just as high quality. A notable scene is of her in the bathtub. This scene hardly holds any narrative purpose. Instead, its significance lies in bringing the film into conversation with a canonical Western text, serving as a reminder for the audience of the classic vampire figure Dracula.
When he caresses her mouth, her fangs can be seen. She smiles at him seductively and takes seductively his finger in her mouth. The Girl jumps to him and feeds on him. When she has finished feeding on him, she stays around some time checking his CD's. Outside, Arash has gone to call on his father's pusher by bicycle, and wants to trade the pair of earrings for his car back. He leaves a message in Saeed's answering machine - which the Girl hears - without knowing that Saeed is already dead.
The Girl turns her head around and can't avoid to show her fangs in a reflex act.She controls herself and offers her other ear. This time she knows what she is going to feel so her reaction is more subdued. Arash says that they are lucky earrings. He is about to kiss her when she says that she has done many bad things.
